Uniportal, which is operated by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and its global affiliates (hereinafter referred to as "Huawei"), is the only portal provided by Huawei to authenticate the identity of external users. This Privacy Statement ("this Statement") applies to the information collected and used by Uniportal (collectively, "we", "us", and "our") when you use the service. Before submitting any personal data to Uniportal, carefully read this Statement.

1. How Uniportal collects and uses your personal data

Personal data refers to any information that can be used independently or combined with other information to identify an individual. We collect the information you provide when you create, modify, or log in to your Uniportal account, including your name, account, password, email address, and phone number. When you use Uniportal, we collect logs, including the IP address, and access date and time. We may use your personal data to:

  • Create your Uniportal account.

  • Authenticate your identity when you use Huawei services.

  • Manage and process authentication results, provide customer support, and locate and rectify faults.

  • Contact you and send you important notifications.

  • Secure our products and services.

  • Conduct internal audits, data analysis, and research to improve our products and services.

  • Comply with and implement applicable laws, regulations, relevant industry standards, and our policies.

2. How Uniportal uses cookies and similar technologies

To ensure our website operates normally, we may store small data files, which are referred to as cookies, on computers or mobile devices. A cookie is a text file stored on a computer or mobile device by a network server. The content of a cookie can only be retrieved or read by the server that creates it. Each cookie is unique to your web browser or mobile application. Cookies usually contain identifiers, site names, numbers, and characters. With cookies, websites can:

  • Remember a single visit (using session cookies) or multiple visits (using permanent cookies), thereby simplifying your login process, checking your login status, and securing your account or data.

3. How Uniportal discloses personal data

We may share your personal data with our partners, in accordance with this Statement, if we have authorized them to offer certain services. For example, when you take a written Huawei certification test, Huawei must share your personal data with a service provider, so that you can use your Uniportal account to log in, and the test results can be integrated with Huawei's platform. In addition, as a multinational company, Huawei may share your personal data with its affiliates.

Huawei may also need to disclose your personal data to law enforcement or other government agencies as stipulated by applicable laws or legal procedures. Your personal data may also be disclosed to transaction parties if Huawei is involved in restructuring, merger, bankruptcy, or liquidation proceedings within a given jurisdiction. Huawei may also need to disclose your personal data due to reasonable requirements, for example, when we need to execute contract terms, prevent physical damage or property loss, and cooperate in the investigation of possibly or actually illegal acts.

4. How you can access or modify your personal data

4.1 Please ensure that all the personal data you submit is accurate. Huawei endeavors to keep your personal data accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

4.2 If permitted by applicable laws, you can exercise the following rights: (1) access your personal data that we hold; (2) request that we update or correct inaccurate records of your personal data; (3) reject or restrict the use of your personal data by us; (4) request that we delete your personal data. We may decline requests if we determine that they are fraudulent or infeasible, or that they may jeopardize the privacy of others.

4.3 If permitted by applicable laws, you have the right to withdraw your consent. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality and effectiveness of how we process your personal data based on your consent before the withdrawal, nor does it affect how we process your data based on other appropriate and legitimate reasons.

5. How Uniportal protects and retains your personal data

Huawei attaches importance to personal data security. We use appropriate physical, organizational, and technical measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, and loss. For example, we use cryptographic technologies to ensure data confidentiality; we use trusted protection mechanisms to prevent malicious data attacks; we deploy access control mechanisms to ensure that personal data can only be access by authorized personnel; we offer security and privacy protection training courses to enhance employees' awareness of the importance of personal data protection. Huawei is committed to protecting your personal data; however, please note that no security measure is completely infallible.

We will retain your personal data only for the purposes stated in this Statement.

We will process and store your personal data during the period you use the service. After you deregister your account or your account is inactive for more than five years, your personal data will be deleted. However, we still reserve the right to retain:

  • Personal data processed for security and audit purposes. For example, Uniportal account data will be retained for up to three years from the date you deregister your account.

  • Login logs collected to ensure your data security and improve our service. Logs will be retained for up to six months from the date they are obtained.

Once the retention period expires, we will delete or anonymize your personal data, unless otherwise required by laws and/or regulations.

6. How We Process Children's Personal Data

Our websites, products and services are primarily intended for adults. A child must not create a Huawei account without the consent of a parent or guardian. If a child's personal data is collected with prior parental consent, we will only use or disclose the data as permitted by law, with the explicit consent of the child's parents or guardians, or when necessary for the protection of the child. If we accidentally collect a child's personal data without verified prior consent from the child's parents, we will attempt to delete the data as soon as possible.

7. Third-party providers and their services

To ensure a smooth browsing experience, you may receive content or web links from third parties (hereinafter referred to as "Third Parties") other than Huawei and its partners. Uniportal has no control over such third parties. You can choose whether to access the content, links, products, and services provided by Third Parties.

This Statement is not applicable to Third Parties; therefore, Uniportal cannot control their privacy and data protection statements. Before submitting personal information to a Third Party, please read the privacy statement of the Third Party.

8. How your personal data is transferred globally

Huawei is a multinational company; therefore, personal data collected by Huawei may be processed or accessed in countries or regions where you use our products or services, or other countries or regions where Huawei or its affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers, or business providers are located. Data collected by Uniportal may be transmitted to countries or regions with different data protection laws. In such cases, Huawei will take measures to ensure that data is processed according to this Statement and applicable laws. For example, when transferring your personal data from the EU to countries or regions that are not recognized by the EU as having an adequate level of data protection, Huawei will use various legal mechanisms to secure your personal data. For instance, signing standard contractual clauses that are approved by the European Commission; obtaining your consent to transfer data; or implementing security measures such as data anonymization before transfers.
